Well Christmas finally got here - and is well under way in Australia. I'm unusually well organized this year and everyone liked their presents. Especially my son his radio controlled helicopter. Yay!  I'm having a go with that later.

Now lunch is cooking away nicely with a 'manageable' sized gathering expected later on. Phone and Skype calls to family overseas later. The distance sometimes makes me depressed at Xmas - but this year I have simply refused to let it! Good friends and family are good friends and family wherever you and they are. You don't have to be sitting in the same room!

Here's thanking LJ friends for being good friends, and wishing everybody  the best and a wonderful day for all <3<3

I do! I cannot BEAR that rushing around, getting presents, grappling with Xmas decorations, fighting way through supermarkets to get food you don't really need, trying to work out where to go and to see who and take what, stressing about the house not being perfect on the day  blah blah BLAH, etc etc etc! Bleeaarrgghhh!

I discovered a few years ago that if all the presents don't get sent on time, and the food isn't the ultimate haute cuisine, and the Xmas tree despite the best of intentions fails to make an appearance - and, even better if you do not actually leave HOME for the day - then, strangely, the universe does not stop turning. And everyone doesn't hate your guts :D

So I figure, WTF?

And, after my adventures getting lost in the forest a couple of weeks ago, I arrived in this very aesthetically pleasing place last week, which certainly helped with peaceful non Xmas stress mindset <3

NICE !!
