I absolutely REFUSE to get stressed out over Xmas!

I do! I cannot BEAR that rushing around, getting presents, grappling with Xmas decorations, fighting way through supermarkets to get food you don't really need, trying to work out where to go and to see who and take what, stressing about the house not being perfect on the day  blah blah BLAH, etc etc etc! Bleeaarrgghhh!

I discovered a few years ago that if all the presents don't get sent on time, and the food isn't the ultimate haute cuisine, and the Xmas tree despite the best of intentions fails to make an appearance - and, even better if you do not actually leave HOME for the day - then, strangely, the universe does not stop turning. And everyone doesn't hate your guts :D

So I figure, WTF?

And, after my adventures getting lost in the forest a couple of weeks ago, I arrived in this very aesthetically pleasing place last week, which certainly helped with peaceful non Xmas stress mindset <3

NICE !!

Urk. I try to avoid letting myself get stressed over X-mas too >.< The mad shopping frenzy is what really does my head in. People can get freaking vicious in the shops at this time of the year =S

Oh wow! Lovely pic is lovely <333

Yeah - I agree - it's like a feeding frenzy, horrendous! That's why I reckon just get everything earlier, and plan for a low key, relaxed day, and then stay out the hysteria!

Xmas should be about slowing down, and doing stuff you didn't have a chance to do in normally busy RL. Not about creating a more stressful time than what you had to put up with the whole of the rest of the year :D

I couldn't agree with you more! We try to keep it really simple, and if things are late or don't happen some years, oh well. Good for you. And the photo is lovely. What a serene place.

That's lovely - agree, Xmas can be really nice if it's without demands and expectations!

Glad you like photo - yes, it did grab me as a really nice spot, and I hung around there and took a few photos :-)

I totally agree with you! We don't do big fancy Christmases or complicated menus, either. Unfortunately, life decided to cheat this year and just stress me with non-Christmas stuff instead *sulks*

Awwww .... *many hugs!*

Well you can't help the other stuff. Unfortunately Xmas, when we're all supposed to be 'having such a great time' sometimes seems to be precisely when other 'issues' choose arise to challenge that concept.

But if you disengage from the Christmas hysteria/obligation thing, it can be a remarkably good time for sorting other s**t out >3

*snuggles* It's not so bad, just normal stress. But it's annoying that it happens at Christmas time, I would rather be relaxing and enjoying it!

[identity profile] ayngelcat.livejournal.com 2010-12-19 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
*Snuggles back* Yeah, would be annoying! I hope you manage to create a space to relax and enjoy, regardless :D

I'll send you some more nice river pictures, perhaps ??

Re. Christmas - damned good plan!

And that's a lovely place to find.

Awww, that’s a wonderful picture. :)

And I totally get what you mean with not want to be involved in the pre-X-mas trouble. @@ (Sadly, though RL keeps me busy with other stuff.)
And I like your attitude. ;) We long sopped buying a Christmas tree and rather decorate our Yuca palm. *lol* :p
