Horses and gardens

Well, the garden might have been hard work this year but it has paid off. I am SERIOUSLY proud of the head of broccoli under the cut. And it tasted better than anything I've bought in a shop :-)

On another topic, I rode my friend's horse today. Which made me very happy, as horses are beautiful creatures, and very good at restoring sanity. I will be stiff tomorrow, however. It had been a while :-)

YUM!!

And the whole kitchen garden is now eagerly awaiting the proper rain it looks like we will bet this weekend. A surfeit of chillies, but lots of other good stuff too!!

What a nice garden!

Thank you :-) It is now! A year ago it was - er - a bit of a wasteland :P

Goodness! That's a rather impressive garden!

Thank you! Its getting there. Little fruit trees are among the rest, when they get bigger it will be really cool. I've also got to whack in some peas and beans, somewhere!

Did you manage to get any herbs in the end?

Ooo, garden work. <3

I theoretically planted thyme and parsley, but they're old seeds from someone else, so no telling if they'll sprout. We'll see.

Well here's wishing you luck. They're very good 'basics' to have on hand :-) lemon thyme is especially good. But any will do!

That looks great! You have a very nice garden - and yay horse riding!

Yay, thank you! And yes, he's a very nice horse and I will ride him regularly now. I have to get some exercise and lose a bit more weight - and that was the most fun way I could think of doing this!

I am slightly envious? LOL. I am at the PLANTING stage for ours.

Just put on heaps of fertilizer and everything will suddenly take off. I wish you luck with this. And the chickies :-)

I make a lot of omelettes, fritters, plus side salads etc with the produce, but alas I have to buy the eggs!!

Ooh, what a fantastic garden.

Thank you! I am looking at the grey skies and impending rain with great excitement today, as this will make it even better I hope (and mean I don't have to stand out there for an hour with a hose!)
