UK Trip 2: York, prezzies and Scotland

Can't believe I left the UK a week ago. Time has just seemed weird and totally screwed up the last week and now I seem to be unwell: headache, sore throat, swollen glands, hot, achy. Eeerrgh. Hoped I could avoid this on return this time - but noooo ...

Soooo - to continue with the trip blog - just over a week after getting to the UK I got the train to York. There I remained for the rest of the weekend, and got to spend time with the awesome ultharkitty and aniay. It was great wandering around the town again, having lunch and talking tranformers (lots of TFs.) And I got the most lovely presents from both my friends who are so talented at making things:





Wall hanging from Ultharkitty, now hung! I love the colours (and not just because they're Swindlecolours LOL) and it looks great on the wall.




From aniay - its really pretty and delicate and intricate.




Swindle liked this too. Everyone's probably seen him by now. ultharkitty made him for me and he is on Deviantart, but here's another pic, as he is AWESOME and I LOVE HIM!


Then, between York and AA, I spent some time in the south of Scotland, as my Aunt and Uncle from the 'other' family (my adoptive one) live about 20kms south of Edinburgh. This area is very beautiful, and underrated as everyone bipasses it and goes to the highlands (which are also fantastic). I hired a car and drove everyone around for the day as my uncle is very old now and not well, and doesn't get out much. It was great to see him so happy at the beautiful country :-)













I loved this owl. He was a pet. He was chained to that log, but seemed very happy. His owner fed him a whole mouse just before this photo which he ate in one gulp!



And here's Edinburgh looking magnificent as usual.

After this it was on plane and down to Birmingham to AA!
