I'm glad you find him so. I am warming to the idea of Swindle's 'independence glitch' which kicks in at various times after he becomes part of the gestalt.
It fits with the notion that he was somehow programmed not to be so strongly attached, and would help explain the spare parts incident, which I still think was radical for a gestalt mech - even Swindle !
